Shannon Flynn joined SC Novi as a Search Consultant in 2008.

Shannon consults with corporations and scientists in the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical fields to bring people together and advance the careers of everyone involved. He brings value to both corporate clients and individual candidates by critically evaluating client needs and candidate skills, talents and character. His goal is to streamline the hiring process while finding the best possible match between client and candidate.

Shannon has a Ph.D. in microbiology from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a BA in microbiology from the University of Missouri. He has over 15 years research experience in the molecular sciences in both academic and industry settings. He has also taught biological sciences at multiple universities and colleges including Lindenwood University and Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University.

Prior to joining SC Novi Shannon worked in both academic and industry settings in the fields of virology, environmental microbiology and PCR methods development. His experience with a start-up company exposed him to nearly all of the functions of professionals in the biotech industry. They included day-to-day laboratory management, small and mid scale protein purification/manufacture, QA/QC, protocol/assay development, documentation, interviewing candidates, training personnel, budgeting, and order fulfillment. This broad ranging experience in the molecular sciences enables him to understand and communicate the technical needs of different sectors within the biotechnology industry.

Shannon is married with two children. He coaches his son's soccer team and is an Assistant Scoutmaster with BSA Troop 1000. He enjoys the outdoors as an avid mountain biker and fly fisherman.
